BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – It is my distinguished honor and pleasure to host the 2018 Space Coast Public Service Awards and Hall of Fame event being held Saturday, September 29 at the King Center for Performing Arts, located at 3865 N. Wickham Road in Melbourne.

The event social and photograph session will be held from 5:30–6:45 p.m. with the event to begin at 7 p.m.

This wonderful event is being presented in partnership with Space Coast Daily as we honor individuals, groups and organizations who by virtue of their personal integrity and determination, work hard each and every day to change our county for the better.

Last year’s event was truly amazing with more than 700 hundred citizens, friends and family in attendance as we recognized 110 outstanding award recipients.

I encourage you to participate by nominating someone you know and sharing their story of excellence, so we can recognize those who dedicate themselves to making our community a great place to call home through their sense of patriotism, ingenuity, persistence and strong commitment to helping others.

These highly prestigious awards will honor those who have served with distinction, selflessly serving our community and whose work can be viewed as models of public service.

The Public Service Award Committee will evaluate each nomination and select from all areas/levels of public service and commitment to include organizations, groups, and Good Samaritan citizens.

Nomination criteria will include those who have made a positive and profound difference in the lives of others; were willing to take risks to affect and achieve positive change; who set aside personal gain for the betterment of their community; who championed social equality, health, education, military service, community improvement, safety and justice; and who devoted a career to protect our freedoms.

This is our way of saying thank you to those who deserve so much recognition for their efforts and accomplishments. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Brevard County Public Safety Charity, a 501 c3 that supports Brevard County Public Safety members in their time of need.
