BREVARD COUNTY • PATRICK AIR FORCE BASE, FLORIDA – In a change of command ceremony, held on Saturday of the July Unit Training Assembly, Lt. Col. Asan Q. Bui took command of the 920th Rescue Wing’s Communications Flight.

Bui, a 2000 graduate of Louisiana State University, was born on a U.S. Naval Carrier that later transported his family to a naval hospital in Agana Heights, Guam after the fall of Saigon; ending the Vietnam War in May 1975.

Bui attended Louisiana State University earning his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and received his commission in the Air Force on May 19, 2000.

In 2008, he separated from active duty and joined the Air Force Reserve to continue his service where he served multiple positions supporting aircraft maintenance, aeromedical evacuation, cyber, joint staff, acquisition and special operations. His most recent position was joint staff officer within the Joint Improvised Thread Defeat Organization, Reston, Va.
