BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – After receiving two CRIMELINE tips, the Florida Highway Patrol has located a suspect vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Orange County.

The vehicle, which was found in Brevard County, is a maroon 2007 Honda CRV and has front-end damage consistent with striking a bicyclist.

“Evidence from the vehicle has been sent to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement lab for confirmation of its involvement in this crash,” said FHP PIO Lt. Kim Montes.

“Troopers do have a person of interest that they are investigating, it is not the owner of the car.”

Florida Highway Patrol Troopers are in the process of gathering further evidence to build their case against the driver.

The fatal hit-and-run incident happened last Friday morning about 5:30 a.m. when the suspect vehicle struck a bicyclist on Colonial Drive and Berekely Street in Orlando.
