Florida Highway Patrol Seeks Fatal Hit-and-Run Suspect Driving Red Car With ‘Endless Summer’ License Plate

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Florida Highway Patrol Troopers are on the scene of a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred at about 7:20 p.m. on State Road 528, just west of the State Road 3 exit.

According to Lt. Kim Montes, Florida Highway Patrol Public Affairs Officer, the crash involved a Mustang, a red passenger vehicle and an SUV.

“Witnesses tell Troopers that the Mustang and the red passenger vehicle were traveling eastbound on State Road 528 and appeared to be involved in a road rage,” said Lt. Montes in a release.

“The front of the red passenger vehicle struck the rear of the Mustang and then fled the scene. After the initial impact, the Mustang traveled into the westbound lanes and was struck by a westbound SUV.”

The driver of the Mustang was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Lt. Montes said that Troopers are looking for a red passenger vehicle with an “Endless Summer” specialty license plate which also had a sticker on the back which said “Hammock Kippy.”
