Titusville Fire, Florida Fish and Wildlife Rescue 11 After Boat Capsized in Rough Waters of Indian River

incident happened in Titusville as severe thunderstorm passed through Brevard County

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville Fire, along with Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers, rescued nine adults and two children after their boat capsized in the rough waters of the Indian River, just south of the Max Brewer bridge on Sunday afternoon.

The incident happened about 2:45 p.m. as a severe thunderstorm passed through Brevard County with wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and frequent lightning.

According to Titusville Fire, there were no injuries reported and one person was evaluated but refused treatment.

On Sunday morning, the National Weather Service in Melbourne Storm Prediction Center has placed much of east central Florida under a risk for severe storms and warned everyone to stay weather aware.
