Palm Bay police officers hold highly responsible position

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay police officers hold a highly responsible position that involves networking with the community and the protection of life and property.

This is accomplished through patrol work, criminal investigation, community policing and enforcement of the laws of the State of Florida and the City of Palm Bay Ordinances.

The Palm Bay Police Department is seeking qualified applicants who have the qualities to be part of a professional agency whose focus is to build trust with the citizens and make a positive difference in the community.

Current standards require candidates to complete nearly 800 hours of police academy training before joining the Department.

Once hired, these officers must complete three weeks of orientation and another 14 weeks in a field training program before being allowed to perform the duties of a sworn law enforcement officer on their own.
