BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA (WESH TV)– A Brevard County couple is accused of carrying out an organized scheme to sneak power tools out of stores under blankets.

Police said Elise Bianco and her partner Timothy Kerstetter raided a Home Depot in West Melbourne often enough to each rack up a dozen charges, including organized fraud and grand theft.

Authorities said the couple pawned all the stolen items at the same pawn shop.

“In a case like this, where you’re talking about brand new stuff, that raises some red flags for law enforcement,” Wheeler Dealer Pawn Shop manager Alex Mavrelis said.

Police said the couple hid expensive power tools under movers’ blankets and then paid for the blankets and stole the tools.
