Whether they’re covered in scales, spikes, scutes or slime, all species deserve their moment in the sun.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — Whether they’re covered in scales, spikes, scutes or slime, all species deserve their moment in the sun.

That’s the philosophy behind ColdBlooded Weekend, Brevard Zoo’s annual celebration for the less-loved members of the animal kingdom.

Dubbed a “spineless spectacular,” this year’s event will focus on invertebrates and the creatures that depend on them to survive.

Guests will have the opportunity to view a beehive up close, meet a cockroach trainer, feed stingrays, sample insects at the “Bug Buffet” and more.

Perennial Cold-Blooded Weekend favorites like hands-on encounters, stingray feeding and tortoise races are all slated to return. The event, which is included with general Zoo admission, runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on September 1–3.
