EVENT SPOTLIGHT: The Ancient Japanese Art of Bonsai Returns to Brevard Zoo August 11-12

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — The ancient Japanese art of bonsai is returning to Brevard Zoo. Bonsai Weekend, organized by the Bonsai Society of Brevard, is slated to run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on August 11 and 12 in the Zoo’s Nyami Nyami River Lodge.
The event, which is included with Zoo admission, will feature more than 50 miniature trees, vendors selling bonsai plants and accessories, and a bonsai care demonstration at 1 p.m. on both days.
A workshop for children ages 10–17 is scheduled for 1 to 3 p.m. on August 11. A $35 registration fee, which includes a tree to take home, is required.
