Brevard County Parents Concerned Over School Drinking Fountains After Tests On Groundwater

ABOVE VIDEO: In two days, kids in Brevard County will hit the books, but parents are worried the water in their drinking fountains won’t be safe, as cancer causing chemicals were found in the groundwater of Satellite and Cocoa beach.

BREVARD COUNTY • SATELLITE BEACH, FLORIDA (FOX 35) – In two days, kids in Brevard County will hit the books, but parents are worried the water in their drinking fountains won’t be safe, as cancer causing chemicals were found in the groundwater of Satellite and Cocoa beach.

Health officials are now investigating a possible cancer cluster among Satellite High School.

Out of an abundance of caution, the school system chose to have the water tested at nine schools, but the results from Satellite High School are still inconclusive.

Officials say they want the water tested again.
