Motorcyclist Seriously Injured After Hit-and-Run Crash On US-1 and Viera Blvd.

Florida Highway Patrol responded to a reported hit-and-run Saturday evening that seriously injured a Melbourne man on a Harley Davidson motorcycle near US-1 and Viera Blvd. in Rockledge.

BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – Florida Highway Patrol responded to a reported hit-and-run Saturday evening that seriously injured a Melbourne man on a Harley Davidson motorcycle near US-1 and Viera Blvd. in Rockledge.

Police identified the victim as 31-year-old Alexander Marchica, who was taken to Holmes Regional for treatment.

FHP says the investigation has revealed that a red Chrysler 200 convertible was driving northbound on US-1, while Marchica was traveling US-1 southbound on his motorcycle.

The driver of the convertible turned left onto Viera Blvd. and collided with the motorcycle which resulted in the motorcyclist being ejected.

Troopers say the red Chrysler 200 convertible then fled the scene.

Authorities say the vehicle involved will have front end damage near the grill and fog light.
