Marylee Elisabeth Walker, 30, from St. Cloud, arrested
BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Cocoa Beach Police say 30-year-old Marylee Elisabeth Walker from St. Cloud, Florida, was arrested on Tuesday for her involvement in the 2014 death of Jessica Erausquin from Orlando, who was found dead in a Cocoa Beach neighborhood.
Police say the incident occurred on October 16, 2014, after a body was found on Rose Dr., who later was identified as Erausquin.
“Since the incident date, Cocoa Beach Police, with assistance of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), have worked tirelessly to solve this case, bring those responsible to justice, and provide much needed closure to Jessica’s family and friends,” said Cocoa Beach Police Chief Scott Rosenfeld.
Investigators say the case went cold when leads were exhausted until recent information discovered helped lead to Walker’s arrest.
“Investigators recently identified and interviewed a former associate of Walker, who provided a statement corroborating other witness statements obtained following the incident, as well as the medical examiner’s findings, and evidence collected during the investigation,” said Sgt. Manny Hernandez of the Cocoa Beach Police Department.
As a result from the findings, Cocoa Beach Police prepared an arrest warrant that charged Walker with Vehicular Homicide and Leaving the Scene of a Crash Involving Death.
Police executed the warrant at her residence in St. Cloud, along with the assistance of the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
Walker is currently being held at the Osceola County Correctional Facility on a no bond status awaiting extradition to Brevard County.
Police say the investigation continues to be active and ongoing.
Anyone with pertinent information is asked to contact the Cocoa Beach Police Department and 321-868-3251.
