SPACE COAST DAILY TV: The Doctors Corner with Dr. Mark Pinsky discusses wellness and prevention focusing this week on colon cancer.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA– On this very special edition of “The Doctors Corner,” host Dr. Mark Pinsky discusses wellness and prevention focusing this week on colon cancer and why making sure you get your colonoscopy done if you fit the criteria is of utmost importance.

Dr. Pinsky welcomes in one his courageous patients, Mary Besvold, who was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer in April 2017, and six months ago was given two years to live.

Mary had part of her colon removed and has gone through five different types of chemotherapy in just 17 months.

Thankfully, she is doing better than doctors have expected at this point and on this episode, she visits with Dr. Pinsky to discuss her condition and the treatment she has received to date.

Mary will tell you how she has battled through the side effects of her chemotherapy and how she has ultimately come to feeling better than doctors have expected.

However, the message both Mary and Dr.Pinsky want you to hear the most is one of prevention.

While Mary’s story is courageous her message of prevention and early detection is emotional and strong. “The moral to my story is don’t be stubborn, foolish or embarrassed by the fact you should have a colonoscopy.”

This is a Doctor’s Corner you don’t want to miss.
