BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brynn L. Brito has focused her career on helping citizens facing extensive legal struggles and has practiced in Brevard County for the past eight years.

Since she entered the field of law in 1999 she has focused on criminal trial work specifically on the felony level.

With her practice primarily focusing on intense trial litigation, she has tried many cases in Brevard County after a successful career as a prosecutor in Broward County.

This year has been an especially successful year for Brito as she has tried two Felony Child Abuse Cases and a Grand Theft case – all receiving Not Guilty verdicts. In February, she successfully argued a Stand Your Ground Motion.

“The Stand Your Ground Law is very specific and allows the person who defends themselves if properly qualified, immunity from prosecution and civil liability,” said Brito.

“In my client’s case, he was facing a mandatory life sentence for defending himself from an attack at his home.”

Brito, along with trial partner, Reed Cary, successfully litigated the case for three years, and after four days of testimony in Circuit Court, the Motion was granted by the Judge and the State Attorney’s Office was forced to abandon the charges.

Consequently, Brito is one of the very few attorneys in Florida to prevail in a Stand Your Ground Motion. Most of the cases are denied by the judges and are ultimately tried to a jury.

Brito also works with many people in the community on a pro bono basis helping them to get their driver’s licenses reinstated.

“Licensed drivers are insured drivers and that benefits all members of our community,” said Brito.

She has appeared on “Shooting Straight” with Royce Bartlett on WMMB-AM as a featured guest and was recently elected as the Brevard County Criminal Defense Association Bench Liaison.
