BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Joe Rodriguez and his family are the owners of several McDonald’s restaurants in Brevard and are ardent supporters of the law enforcement community.
Coming from a law enforcement family, Rodriguez has a high appreciation for law enforcement officers. He is a former reserve police officer himself, his father is a retired police lieutenant and his son is a police officer in New Jersey.
Rodriguez has often used his restaurant as a forum to honor fallen law enforcement and bring local police and deputies together with the community.
Earlier this year, he honored two fallen Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Deputies – Corrections Deputy Keith Hardin and Sheriff’s Deputy Kevin Stanton – by reserving a special table at the restaurant in their memory.
Several years ago, Rodriguez went to the Titusville Police Department to introduce himself and find out ways that he could partner with the agency to help foster positive relations with the community.
In the years since, he has become a part of the Titusville Police Department family and is present at most, if not all, of TPD’s events.

The Rodriguez family and McDonald’s consistently support community outreach events such as National Night Out, Partnership in the Park, Coffee with a Cop and Shop with a Cop.
In addition to this support, Rodriguez is so in tune with the community and has an uncanny knack to show up at major incidents and extended crime scenes with boxes of assorted sandwiches, coffee and cold bottled waters.
“When we have tried to compensate Joe for his support, he merely laughs and reiterates how much his family supports and backs law enforcement and it is his honor to do so,” said Titusville Police Chief John Lau.
“Joe Rodriguez is a valuable member of our community and a crucial part of the success of Titusville’s first responders and their efforts in promoting quality of life in Titusville.”
Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey also commended the Rodriguez family-owned McDonald’s restaurants for “showing our community how much they love the members of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.”

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The 2018 Central Florida Humanitarians have been announced and include outstanding individuals and organizations from the medical, business, education and governmental communities.
The Central Florida Humanitarian honorees will be recognized during a Gala event on Thursday, Nov. 8, at the Hilton Melbourne Rialto Place in Melbourne, Florida.
The Central Florida Humanitarian Awards were created nine years ago by Space Coast Daily to recognize outstanding individuals and organizations that dedicate their time, talent or treasure to help people in need locally – and around the world.
TIME: In this category consider candidates who have selflessly and consistently devoted their time as volunteers at hospitals and nursing homes, in activities for the less fortunate and as organizers, administrators or operatives in the many other altruistic endeavors in our community.
The 2018 Central Florida Humanitarians have been announced and include outstanding individuals and organizations from the medical, business, education and governmental communities. All Humanitarian alumni are presented a specially commissioned medallion.
TALENT: In this category give consideration to those who have volunteered their special talents and expertise to address specific circumstances in which the lives of those in need are improved.
TREASURE: The humanitarians in this category will include those who have generously shared their monetary good fortune and/or volunteered their time and efforts in fundraising for the advancement of a philanthropic cause.
