ORLANDO, FLORIDA (UCF Knights) – The most recent editions of the national polls came out on Sunday and once again the UCF football team moved up in the rankings, climbing to 12th in the AP Top 25 Poll and 13th the Amway Coaches Poll.
The Knights moved up one spot in both polls, passing Stanford, which lost to Notre Dame this weekend. UCF, meanwhile, defeated Pittsburgh 45-14 on Saturday to remain perfect at 4-0 in 2018.
In the AP Top 25, the Knights totaled 759 points. In the Coaches Poll, UCF accumulated 763 total points. Once again, the Knights are the highest ranked team in the state of Florida and the only ranked team in the American Athletic Conference.
At No. 12 and No. 13 in the two polls, it remains just the second time in program history that the Knights have been ranked inside the Top 15 in the nation during the season. Last year, UCF rose as high as 10th before the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.
Following Saturday’s win over Pittsburgh, the Knights have won 17 straight games, dating back to the start of the 2017 season. It’s the longest win streak in the nation, the longest in program history and the longest in American Athletic Conference history.
UCF will return to Spectrum Stadium to conclude the homestand this weekend, hosting SMU Saturday at 7 p.m. The game between the Knights and the Panthers will air on ESPNU and FM 96.9/AM 740 The Game.
