FHP: Driver Dies In Micco After Crashing Into Tree, Vehicle Engulfed In Flames

Florida Highway Patrol responded to fiery crash involving a vehicle colliding into a tree and killing the driver Tuesday night in Micco.

BREVARD COUNTY • MICCO, FLORIDA – Florida Highway Patrol responded to fiery crash involving a vehicle colliding into a tree and killing the driver Tuesday night in Micco.

Troopers say the crash happened around 8:25 p.m. at the intersection of Draco Dr. and Barefoot Blvd.

According to Lt. Kim Montes of the Florida Highway Patrol, the investigation has revealed that the driver of a 2002 Buick was traveling along Draco Drive when the individual failed to stop at the intersection at Barefoot Boulevard and traveled into a yard, striking a tree.

After impact with a tree, the vehicle became engulfed in flames.

The driver was unable to escape the blaze and died. Authorities are unable to identify the driver, due to the fire.

A medical examiner will release his findings in the coming days as it pertains to the identity of the driver.

The individual’s identity will be released once the medical examiner makes a positive identification and the family has been properly notified.
