BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Sarah Batson has been a psychotherapist in Florida for 20 years, specializing in depression and anxiety. The addition of massage therapy and meditation has allowed her to delve into the field of Integrative Psychotherapy and bring this approach to Brevard.

As a graduate of Nova Southeastern University, Batson received hands-on training in Interpersonal and Psychodynamic interventions to assist individuals, couples and families in dealing with the effects of depression and anxiety.

Her practice started in the University clinic and extended to community mental health programs. While working with schools in Brevard County, Batson began using meditation to address test anxiety during mid-term and final exams.

Students seen by Batson at numerous middle schools and high schools in Brevard County had improved test scores. Their families also generally reported improved communication and reduced argumentativeness at home after meditation in conjunction with psychotherapy.

After reading research that showed people experiencing trauma-based anxiety and depression reported faster and longer lasting results by having a massage in conjunction with psychotherapy, Batson pursued this, as well.

By utilizing massage to treat physical pain and discomfort and psychotherapy to address the mental anguish of trauma, clients reported improved functioning within the first 30 days of treatment.

The onset of Fibromyalgia has also been directly linked to trauma and can be addressed through this protocol, as well.

Batson completed the Certification Program in Integrative Mental Health through UCF’s Continuing Education Department as a means of tying them all together. She has now opened Thrive: Integrative Life Solutions in Cocoa Village to bring these services to the Space Coast.

Batson is also available for traditional psychotherapy, massage and meditation as individual services.

Thrive: Integrative Life Solutions, LLC is located at 218 Brevard Avenue in Cocoa Village. For more information contact Sarah Batson at 321-499-0868.
