BREVARD COUNTY SHERIFF WAYNE IVEY: Please join me in giving a great big “thank you” to Agent Randy Truitt of our West Precinct who arrested a couple of real-life Grinches on Friday. Agent Truitt identified Shawndevaya Jawn Weaver and Chester Hilton as the two perpetrators of the theft.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Please join me in giving a great big “thank you” to Agent Randy Truitt of our West Precinct who arrested a couple of real-life Grinches on Friday.

Apparently, the two suspects thought it was a great idea to take toys from a donation box in the Brevard County Government Center that are being collected for children who were being cared for at area children’s hospitals.

The Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation on December 4 after it was reported that two subjects had been observed removing toys from a donation box in the lobby of Building “A” at the Government Center in Viera.

The toy donation box was part of the 10th annual toy drive for “Brittany’s Wish Kids Kicking Leukemia,” which were to be delivered on Christmas Eve by Santa to children at Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital, Nemours Children’s Hospital and Florida Hospital for Children.

Agent Truitt was assigned the investigation which subsequently identified Shawndevaya Jawn Weaver and Chester Hilton as the two perpetrators of the theft.

Agent Truitt determined that Weaver, who was out of jail on bond and Hilton had entered the lobby of Building “A” at the Government Center after Weaver had made an appearance in court.

Once inside the lobby, Hilton walked towards the toy box and removed the toys, placing them in Weaver’s purse. Both subjects then exited the building with the new unwrapped toys that had an estimated value of $300.

As a result of the investigation, 39-year-old Weaver and 52-year-old Hilton were both arrested and transported to the Brevard County Jail where they were held on a “No Bond” Status for Grand Theft.

Please join me in thanking Agent Truitt for his outstanding efforts to get these two off our streets and behind bars where they can’t steal from anyone else even though they are just as mean as the Grinch!!

If you want to steal from kids you probably need to go somewhere other than Brevard County to do it, cause if not you are taking the Sleigh Ride to our Jail.
