Merritt Island Christmas Parade Set For Dec. 1, Will Start From Merritt Island High School at 10 a.m.

This year's theme is 'Candy Factory Holiday'

Brevard County Sheriff’s Office will close Courtenay Parkway (State Road 3) from Grove Boulevard to Merritt Avenue and Merritt Avenue east to Plumosa Avenue at 9:30 a.m. until approximately 12 noon on Saturday, Dec. 1, for the Merritt Island Holiday Parade.

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office will close Courtenay Parkway (State Road 3) from Grove Boulevard to Merritt Avenue, and Merritt Avenue east to Plumosa Avenue, at 9:30 a.m. until approximately 12 noon on Saturday, Dec. 1, for the Merritt Island Christmas Parade.

The traffic will be re-routed to Tropical Trail, State Road 520 and State Road 528. Motorists wishing to drive through the area are cautioned to allow extra time.

This year’s theme of the annual parade in Merritt Island is “Candy Factory Holiday.”

The parade will start from Merritt Island High School at 10 a.m. and travel south on Courtenay Parkway, ending at Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School.

Both sides of Courtenay Parkway will shut down and allow spectators to set up a place to watch the parade. Be sure to bring sunscreen, water and hats to the parade.

The parade is hosted by Brevard County Central Area Parks & Recreation and is open to any and all members of the community. You can pull a float, prepare a family-friendly performance, or decorate your vehicle and show off all of your hard work.
