BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Our Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit arrested last night’s featured “Wheel of Fugitive®️” target, Julius Jose Tamayo.

As a result of being on the “Wheel of Fugitive” our Fugitive Unit received an anonymous tip of Tamayo’s possible whereabouts in Melbourne.

Agents subsequently conducted surveillance at the location and were able to positively identify Tamayo as he was walking down the street.

When agents approached, Tamayo fled on foot at which time Agents pursued him through the area. After a brief foot chase, Tamayo surrendered when he realized he couldn’t get away from our Agents.

Pursuant to his arrest, Tamayo admitted to knowing he had a warrant and also knew he was on the “Wheel of Fugitive” the previous evening.

Tamayo further admitted that he and his girlfriend had watched the airing of “Wheel of Fugitive” on Facebook and knew he was named the “Fugitive of the Week.”

So here is a very simple lesson…if you see yourself on “Wheel of Fugitive” get a friend to drive you to the jail because if not the Fugitive Unit is on their way, Oh and by the way, if you run from our Agents, you are only going to go to jail tired.

And a special thank you to the citizen who called in the anonymous tip about Tamayo’s whereabouts as we greatly appreciate you helping us keep our community safe.
