Florida Tech Presented Football Team’s 50/50 Drawing for Entire 2018 Season
BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Though the New York Jets and Green Bay Packers needed overtime to settle their Dec. 23 game at MetLife Stadium, the day’s other major winner needed no such drama: Florida Tech’s Scott Center for Autism Treatment received a donation of more than $16,000 as the recipient of the Jets 50/50 Raffle that day.
Hosted by the New York Jets Foundation, the raffle was presented by Florida Tech for the entire 2018 season.
During each home game, fans were provided the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets, with one lucky fan winning half of the raffle jackpot when the winning number was announced early in the fourth quarter.
The remainder of the jackpot benefited select charities as well as the Jets Foundation.
Florida Tech Trustee and Scott Center founder Ed Scott and his son, Reece, who was diagnosed with autism in the 1990s, joined Florida Tech President Dwayne McCay, College of Psychology and Liberal Arts Dean Lisa Steelman and others at the stadium to watch the game and accept the donation.
In total, the raffle raised $32,420.
The Jets lost to the Packers, 44-38.
