BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, a junior, already had already announced plans to enter the NFL draft. He turned his Florida farewell into a perfect advertisement for NFL scouts.

What’s better than a pick six in a New Year’s Six bowl game to close a college career?

Gardner-Johnson intercepted two passes, returning one 30 yards for a touchdown, in the No. 10 Gators’ 41-15 rout of No. 8 Michigan on Saturday, to earn a spot on The Associated Press all-bowl team.

Gardner-Johnson joined select UF company by earning MVP honors, joining former Gators Emmitt Smith, Errict Rhett and Tim Tebow as the only players in school history to be named MVP in a bowl game twice.

At the end of his freshman season, Gardner-Johnson was named Outback Bowl MVP for a pair of interceptions, including a 58-yard pick-six that erased any doubts in a 30-3 win over Iowa.
