Cocoa Beach ocean temperatures avg. 63 degrees

Waves Saturday morning will be run in the mostly waist-high range with semi-bumpy surface conditions from a light onshore breeze. Watch for bigger sets mid-morning along Brevard’s southernmost beaches.

I expect our waves to remain in the waist-high range with clean lines from an expected offshore breeze.

Bob-Freeman-180-2Bob Freeman has been surfing Brevard’s waves since 1966. He was also the first to surf several of North Carolina’s remote islands in the mid-60s and travels frequently to surf in Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Mexico and Hawaii. He provided his first surf reporting and weekend forecasts in 1968 live on WKKO radio from the Ron Jon Surf Shop on Cocoa Beach Pier. He was the 1968 Florida Men’s Surfing Champion and is the current Florida Legend’s Surfing Champion. He has gathered over 300 amateur 1st place awards in both shortboard and longboard divisions. He is a 2014 Inductee into the Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame.
