Melbourne Hits 90 Degrees for First Time Sunday, Cooling Trend Coming To Brevard Next Week

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE • BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The National Weather Service said Melbourne hit 90 degrees on Sunday for the first time this year. The daily record of 92 was set in 1962.
Next week’s forecast calls for cooler temperatures with highs in the 70s and lows in the 60s. Chances for rain will be 40 percent midweek with 20 percent chance of rain into next weekend.
Sunday Afternoon: Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. West southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. West wind 5 to 15 mph becoming north after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.
Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 73. Northeast wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Monday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. Northeast wind around 10 mph.
Tuesday: A 40 percent chance of showers, mainly after 1 pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 77. East wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
