Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that claimed the life of a 43-year-old Cocoa man Sunday night on U.S. 1.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that claimed the life of a 43-year-old Cocoa man Sunday night on U.S. 1.

The crash happened around 5:45 p.m. on northbound U.S. 1 and Jordan Blvd.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by rescue crews.

Troopers say the preliminary investigation has revealed the motorcyclist lost control of the motorcycle and traveled off the roadway.

Investigators are still investigating what caused the man to lose control of the bike.

The identity of the man will be released by FHP, once the next of kin has been properly notified.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet, according to FHP.
