BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Friday Night Locker Room’s Steve Wilson had a chance recently to sit down with Casie Shimansky about pediatric cancer issues.

Shimansky raises funds annually for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, which is the largest independent organization dedicated solely to raising funds for pediatric cancer research.

Shimansky created the fundraising team “Team Live Out Loud,” in honor of her sister, Kellie, who passed away from an unknown cause 15 years ago.

Behind Shimansky’s guidance, and strong support from family members, “Team Live Out Loud” has quickly turned into one of the strongest fundraising arms for St. Baldrick’s in the world.

In fact, in 2018, they were in St. Baldrick’s Top 30, raising nearly $27,000.

Shimansky will once again be at Captain Hiram’s, located at 1580 U.S. 1 in Sebastian on March 30 for St. Baldrick’s annual Head-Shaving Event. The event is scheduled to kickoff at 12 noon and go until 5 p.m.
