BREVARD COUNTY • CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – Noted Author Peter Kageyama is in Brevard and will be the Keynote Speaker during the 2019 Tourism + Transit Summit in Cape Canaveral on Thursday, February 14 at the Radisson Resort at the Port.

Business leaders, elected officials and stakeholders from across Brevard County will assemble to hear Kageyama speak during the event.

Kageyama is the author of For the Love of Cities: The Love Affair Between People and Their Places and the follow-up, Love Where You Live: Creating Emotionally Engaging Places.

Planetizen recognized For the Love of Cities as a Top 10 Book in 2012 in urban planning, design and development.

Kageyama is the former President of Creative Tampa Bay, a grassroots community change organization and the co-founder of the Creative Cities Summit, an interdisciplinary conference that brings citizens and practitioners together around the big idea of “the city.”

The event will focus on all the reasons to love the Space Coast: from the many places to spend a staycation, to the opportunities available at Port Canaveral, and even the savings available by riding Space Coast Area Transit and sharing the ride to work.

Members of the public were invited to be a part of this year’s campaign by pledging their love for the Space Coast at SpaceCoast.Love

Individuals could pledge to ride Space Coast Area Transit, take a Florida’s Space Coast Staycation, get engaged with the ReThink Your Commute program, or sail from Port Canaveral on a Carnival Cruise Line Cruise.

By adding their photo pledge, individuals were entered to win a free 3-Day Bahamas Cruise for two sailing from Port Canaveral October 4-7, 2019.

The contest will end at noon on Valentine’s Day, February 14. No purchase or contribution is necessary to enter or win.
