The Transitional Kindergarten class of Tropical Elementary on Merritt Island, Florida devised a Kindness Symbol after determining that as a class, school, community and nation we need to do more to show kindness in our everyday lives.

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – The Transitional Kindergarten class of Tropical Elementary on Merritt Island, Florida devised a Kindness Symbol after determining that as a class, school, community and nation we need to do more to show kindness in our everyday lives.

“The Kindness Symbol shows Kindness all around, ongoing, never-ending, north/south/east/west, everywhere,” said parent Jeannette Southard.

“Having a recognizable, easy to recreate symbol will remind people to be kind.”

In addition to encouraging people to sign a proclamation to use the Kindness Symbol, the group is going to talk to the Brevard County Commissioner on Thursday.

“We already have and use symbols for love, peace, and happiness and a kindness symbol will add to our national focus of being kind,” said class teacher  Ms. Wilcox

“Please sign our petition to encourage our nation to declare the Kindness Symbol as the National Symbol of Kindness.”
