U.S. Navy Dropping Live Bombs on Ocala National Forest This Weekend As Part of Training

Live bombs are scheduled to be dropped each day between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. through Monday
(WESH 2) – Residents in parts of Marion, Volusia and Lake counties may hear a few loud booms this weekend.
The U.S. Navy is dropping live bombs on the Ocala National Forest this week as part of a series of training exercises that will last through Monday.
The bombing at the Pinecastle Range Complex by military jets from the Naval Air Station Jacksonville was scheduled to begin Thursday, according to the NAS Jacksonville website.
Live bombs are scheduled to be dropped each day between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. through Monday.
The range complex is about 2 miles west of the Camp Ocala campgrounds and near several hiking trails.
