Join The Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard on Tuesday, March 5 as two Cocoa Village food and beverage establishments team up to cook a special meal for you and Give Back to a local charity in support of our community.

The Advocacy Center is a collaborative effort of the Child Protection Team of Brevard, the Florida Department of Children and Families, the Office of the State Attorney, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, and municipal Law Enforcement agencies in Brevard County.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA VILLAGE, FLORIDA – Join The Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard on Tuesday, March 5 as two Cocoa Village food and beverage establishments team up to cook a special meal for you and Give Back to a local charity in support of our community.

Giving Tuesday’s will begin in March for this Cocoa Village Collaboration of the Food and Beverage Establishments of the Historic Cocoa Village Association.

On Tuesday, March 5, Ossorio Bakery and Cryderman’s Barbecue are cooking up a special Brunch just for you and a portion of each ticket sold will be donated to the Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard.

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard was established in 1996, as a means to improve our community’s response to child abuse and neglect.

The Advocacy Center is a collaborative effort of the Child Protection Team of Brevard, the Florida Department of Children and Families, the Office of the State Attorney, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, and municipal Law Enforcement agencies in Brevard County.

These core partners of the CACB work together to intervene in the most severe cases of child abuse, including all child sexual abuse, physical abuse and neglect in Brevard County.

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard, a program of the Space Coast Health Foundation, follows a national model that has proven to be successful in addressing the issue of child abuse and neglect and is being replicated throughout the United States. The Advocacy Center is specifically designed to provide a safe place for child victims of abuse, a child-friendly environment where caring professionals coordinate forensic assessments and intervention.

Last year, the Child Protection Team at the CACB completed over 1500 abuse assessments including forensic interviews and medical assessments. , and counselors provide specialized trauma therapy for child victims of abuse.

The Advocacy Center’s Clinical Intervention Program therapists provided thousands of hours of trauma therapy and psychoeducational services to child abuse victims, siblings and non-offending caregivers, all free of charge.
