Merritt Island Man Arrested After Trying To Hide From Deputies In Sykes Creek

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Merritt Island man for fighting with deputies before jumping into Sykes Creek to escape.

The suspect has been identified as 32-year-old Pedro Lopez.

Lopez has been charged with Battery on Law Enforcement Officer, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, Driving without Driver’s License, Resisting Officer with Violence and Violation of Probation.

Lopez has been booked into Brevard County Jail.

He is scheduled to appear before Judge David Koenig on April 25.
