BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – James Boyles and the 60-member mixed voices of the Brevard Chorale and Vocal Choral Ensemble will “Let it Go” when they present, The Musical World of Disney, in two Brevard locations.

The group will perform first on Saturday, April 27, at 7:30 p.m. at the Simpkins Fine Arts Auditorium at Eastern Florida State College, 1519 Clearlake Road in Cocoa.

The Musical World of Disney will include familiar, upbeat songs that span the decades from more than a dozen classic Disney movies.

The audience will hear tunes from Mary Poppins, The Lion King, Frozen, Pinocchio, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Toy Story, The Little Mermaid, Pocahontas, Aladdin, Song of the South and many, many more.

Vocal soloists Connie Stevens, Lillian and Bonny Hibbard, Doug Kidd and Leah Lund will be featured; along with pianists, Jean Black and Linda Cox. Admission to The Musical World of Disney at EFSC is $10 for adults and seniors; $5 for students.

The second performance of The Musical World of Disney is on Wednesday, May 1 at 7:00 p.m, when the group will be welcomed at The Great Outdoors RV-Nature & Golf Resort in Titusville.

The Titusville choral concert is free of charge and will be held at the resort’s Community Church at 144 Plantation Drive.

The influence of Walt Disney upon musical entertainment is significant, with over 700 musical compositions attributed to the Disney organization. For Brevard Chorale Director James Boyles, concerts don’t get any more upbeat than The Musical World of Disney.

“You just can’t imagine how much fun we’ve had preparing this program,” said Boyles.

“Some of this music has been created for screen, some for stage and some for the Disney theme parks. We hope you’ll enjoy traveling down memory lane with us as we sing through the best of Disney musical history.”

The Chorale is one of two community choruses sponsored by the Department of Performing and Visual Arts at Eastern Florida State College.
