BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Starting this week, some of our Patrol Vehicles will display a brand new decal that will be on the vehicles of our Military Veterans who have proudly served our country in the Armed Forces and are now proudly serving our community as Deputy Sheriffs with our agency!
As an agency and community we have a unique opportunity to recognize our Veteran’s selfless service by showing them just how proud we are of what they have done and continue to do.
In an effort to honor them, we have created a special sticker that will be placed on the left side rear window of each Veteran’s marked patrol vehicle recognizing the respective branch of service they proudly served in.
Public Safety members are among the most sought after careers for military veterans upon separation from the Armed Forces. Without question Veterans possess a high level of discipline, integrity and personal responsibility as they are not only trained to contribute to a team, but also learn that they have to count on a team for success.
As with public safety, most join the military to be a part of something larger than themselves, to give back, to help others, and to make a difference.
We all owe a great debt of gratitude to our veterans as they volunteered and sacrificed to protect everything that we cherish, our lives, our freedoms and our rights!
While this recognition is just a token of our appreciation, it allows everyone the opportunity to give a thumbs up to our veterans who continue their valued and appreciated service!
So when you see one of our stickers and the accompanying Veteran, please join me in thanking them for their service to our great nation and our great community!
