SPACE COAST DAILY TV: The 2019 NFL Draft is here and as many as five former Cocoa Tigers could be on NFL Rosters by the end of the weekend. Space Coast Daily’s Alan Zlotorzynski is live hosting a question and answer session with the players.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Former Cocoa Tigers standout defensive back Jamel Dean runs one of the fastest 40-yard dashes in the 2019 NFL Combine. Alongside Jamel, two other former Cocoa Tigers performed in the 2019 NFL Combine.

Along with Jamel, two other Cocoa Tigers participated in the NFL Combine. Safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson and Offensive Tackle Jawaan Taylor all participated.

Jawaan Taylor was selected as one of the winners of the NFL Combine by NFL.com. Jawaan displayed his superb athleticism and proved he was a top pass protector.

Jawaan is already projected to be selected within the top-15 of the first round, but after his performance at the NFL Combine his draft stock will rise.

Jawaan had 24 reps of 225 lbs on the bench press. Jawaan’s performance in the NFL Combine helped him solidify his spot as the top Offensive Tackle in the entire 2019 NFL Draft.

Jawaan’s former teammate in both high school and college, Chauncey Gardner-Johnson had a total of 17 reps on the bench press. Chauncey is projected to be selected in round 2 of the NFL Draft.

Chauncey Gardner-Johnson made his name heard at the University of Florida. In his final game as a Florida Gator he had two intereceptions, one returned for a touchdown, and was selected as the MVP of the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl.

One thing Chauncey does not lack is confidence. In a interview at the NFL Combine he stated that he is the most “versatile” defensive back in the NFL Draft.

Prior to the NFL Combine Jamel Dean was projected to be selected anywhere from rounds 3-5. After running the fastest 40-yard dash with a 4.30, his draft stock will drastically rise.

Jamel had three separate knee injuries in high school and college, but he did not let that stop him from being the fastest player in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Each of the three Cocoa Tigers that performed in the NFL Combine excelled at the college and high school level and are destined for a bright future at the next level.
