Brevard County Sheriff's Office Aviation units also respond in the area of Golfview and Flora Vista
BREVARD COUNTY • PORT ST. JOHN, FLORIDA – Brevard County and Titusville Fire Rescue units were on the scene of a 300-acre fast-moving brush fire on Wednesday in west Port St. John.
Also on the scene was the Florida Forest Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Aviation in the area of Golfview and Flora Vista in Port St. John.
By Wednesday afternoon, officials announced that State Road 407 was closed in both directions between State Road 528 and I-95 due to the ongoing brush fire.
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office said that about 48 structures were threatened by the fire after the blaze came within 100 yards of the structures.
Around 5 p.m., officials announced that there was no longer a threat to any those structures.
Fire units are still on scene monitoring the area to mop up any remaining hotspots.
