Melbourne Police Seek Shooting Suspect After Incident Sends One Man To Hospital

Melbourne police responded to a shooting Saturday at about 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of Carver Street and Walls Street. Melbourne Police Lt. Shawn Eising said that an officer heard the sound of gunshots and located a victim who had been struck by a bullet at the intersection.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne police responded to a shooting Saturday at about 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of Carver Street and Walls Street.

Melbourne Police Lt. Shawn Eising said that an officer heard the sound of gunshots and located a victim who had been struck by a bullet at the intersection.

“He began providing medical treatment to the victim who was transported to a local hospital and continues to receive care,” said Lt. Eising.

“Members of the Melbourne Police Department are on scene processing evidence and attempting to interview potential witnesses.”

Authorities did not release the condition of the victim.

Lt. Eising said that officers have not yet located the suspect and anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Melbourne Police Department at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477).
