BREVARD COUNTY • SATELLITE BEACH, FLORIDA – The Phantom of the Opera is here. In an artistic coup, the Satellite High School Academy of Fine Arts will be the first theater in Brevard County to stage Andrew Lloyd Webber’s popular rock opera, which currently holds the record as the longest-running musical on Broadway.

Audiences can experience the story of love, obsession and murder at the Satellite High School Auditorium, 300 Scorpion Court, Satellite Beach, Thursday through Saturday, April 25 – 27 at 7 p.m., and Sunday, April 28 at 2 p.m.

Directed by Christy Morales, Director of Theater Arts at Satellite High School, the production involves more than 100 students in grades 9 through 12, who have been working on the show since December.

Musical numbers from the show include the unforgettable “Music of the Night,” along with “Angel of Music,” “Masquerade,” and “All I Ask of You.”

The story, set in the Paris Opera House in the 1880s, mixes romance with suspense in a thrilling love triangle between the beautiful ingenue Christine, her aristocratic suitor Raoul, and the grotesque but passionate Phantom of the Opera.

Added to the mix are the other eccentric personalities of the theater, including preening diva La Carlotta and Italian tenor Piangi, and the new Opera managers, Monsieur Andre and Madame Firmin.
