BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The City of Titusville’s Fire and Police Departments participated in the St. Baldrick’s head shaving event.

Titusville raised over $15,000 for children’s cancer research.

TPD Corporal Bryan Nelson’s daughter, pediatric cancer survivor Annabella, enjoyed shaving the Team’s heads, which brings awareness and hope for a cure.

More than 75 local volunteers registered to shave their head to support the Foundation’s mission to fund the best research to find cures and better treatments for kids with cancer.

Since the first event back in 2011 at Meg O’Malley’s, the Space Coast Conquers event has raised awareness and funds for childhood cancer research over the years and raised more than $1.9 million and shaved over 2,000.

One in five children diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. will not survive. Those who do survive often suffer long-term effects from treatment too harsh for their developing bodies.
