UPDATE: Florida Highway Patrol Identifies Mother and Her Son as Victims of Fatal Motorcycle Crash

A mother and her son were killed Saturday afternoon when a pickup truck crashed into their motorcycle on Babcock Street and Burgandy Street, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A mother and her son were killed Saturday afternoon when a pickup truck crashed into their motorcycle on Babcock Street and Burgandy Street, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the victims were 30-year-old Mark Buffington from Daytona Beach and his 53-year-old mother, Heidi Buffington, from Palm Bay.

According to the investigation by Florida Highway Patrol, the driver in the pickup attempted to turn left onto Babcock Street from Burgandy Street when he crashed into the Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Mark Buffington.

The impact of the crash caused both individuals to be ejected off the bike.

The driver of the pickup truck has been identified as 72-year-old Roger Colvard from Palm Bay.

Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash and charges are pending against Colvard.
