Woman Arrested After 2-Year-Old Child Eats Methadone At Cape Canaveral Home

Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 28-year-old woman after a 2-year-old child was hospitalized for eating methadone.

BREVARD COUNTY • CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 28-year-old woman after a 2-year-old child was hospitalized for eating methadone.

The woman arrested has been identified as Jacquelyn Donnelly.

Deputies say the child ate the prescription opioid in a Cape Canaveral home on Arthur Ave.

When rescue personnel arrived at the scene they used Narcan on the child which is a drug that block the effects of an opioid.

The child is recovering on Tuesday, while Donnelly has been charged with child neglect.

Her bail has been set at $25,000.
