HOOK ‘EM AND BOOK ‘EM: On Friday, members of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit arrested Michael Charles, who was the Catch of the Day on this past weekend’s episode of “Fishing for Fugitives.”

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – On Friday, members of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit arrested Michael Charles, who was the Catch of the Day on this past weekend’s episode of “Fishing for Fugitives.”

Following the posting last week two anonymous Crimeline tips were received that led Fugitive Agents to an area in Cocoa where Charles was believed to be hiding.

Our Fugitive Unit set up in the area and saw Charles walking down the street. Charles is known to attempt to flee when being arrested and actually took a step toward running from our Agents but decided to give up when he saw Agents coming from every direction.

That’s a shame too because our K-9 hasn’t had a bite in a while and needed the practice, but oh well.

Charles subsequently admitted to knowing he had active warrants for his arrest and also to knowing he was highlighted on “Fishing for Fugitives,” however he made no effort to turn himself in.

Charles was transported to the Brevard County Jail where he was booked on a “No Bond” status for Violation of Community Control Reference 2 Counts of Acquiring or Obtaining a Controlled Substance By Fraud, Violation of Community Control Reference a Possession of Heroin, and a Capias for Resisting an Officer Without Violence.

This arrest is another perfect example of what happens when citizens and Law Enforcement work together to take criminals off our streets.
