Piccalo is a former Cocoa Tigers player and coach and was also the head coach of the Cocoa Beach Minutemen.

Piccalo, who is entering his third season at the helm of the Falcons, lost 26 seniors to graduation last year, including seven that signed college scholarships, and expects to count on a number of rising sophomores in the upcoming season.

“This game will be a good challenge for us and a great barometer for our team,” said Piccalo.

“Our coaching staff has done a great job of working this spring to put kids in the best spots to get on the field and contribute.”

Diesel enters his second season as head coach of the Vipers as  Space Coast comes off of a winning season (6-4) for the first time in a couple of years.

The Vipers had one of the most balanced teams on the Space Coast in 2018, averaging 126 yards on the ground, and 121 yards through the air.
