Flamingo Café has been transformed into Nourish 321
BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Brevard Zoo has partnered with Denver-based Service Systems Associates to manage the Zoo’s culinary offerings.
The Flamingo Café has been transformed into Nourish 321, a stylish venue offering classic twists on old favorites.
In the coming months, the Paws On Pizzeria will be split into two walk-up venues: Slice, serving fresh pizza, and Cones, serving ice cream and other sweet treats.
“Dining plays a huge role in any Zoo visit, and our new menu and innovative design will really take the guest experience to the next level,” said Thomas Yeatman, Service Systems Associates general manager for the Zoo.
“We’ve introduced items like artisanal sandwiches, falafel and gourmet burgers that taste as good as they look.”
In conjunction with these renovations, Service Systems Associates has introduced reusable plates, bowls and utensils that will minimize the need for disposable plastics.
“SSA’s commitment to the environment is in lockstep with our mission of ‘wildlife conservation through education and participation,’ and it’s one of the primary factors that drove us to partner with them,” said Keith Winsten, the Zoo’s executive director.
“Making the switch from single-use to reusable serviceware is a major milestone on our sustainability journey.”
