Florida Tech’s Women’s Rowing Garners Five Spots on National Scholar Athlete List

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Five members of the Florida Tech women’s rowing team has earned the status of Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association National Scholar-Athlete, including Natlia Arasa Bonavila, Theresa Gadilhe, Federica Pala, Svetlana Ristin and Taylor Stoni.

The requirements to be eligible for the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association National Scholar-Athlete are the student-athlete has met all eligibility rules as defined by her institution, in their second, third, or fouth year of eligibility, in their institution’s NCAA or IRA eligible boat(s) for a minimum of 75 percent of the current spring races or racing in a regional conference event, the head coach of the student-athletes institution was a member in good standing of the CRCA as of May 1, 2019 and the student-athlete had a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher for their career.

This collective of student-athletes crosses many educational borders as each has a different major with Arasa Bonavila (psychology), Gadilhe (accounting), Pala (business administration), Ristin (biochemistry) and Stoni (marine biology).
