Titusville Police are currently working a death investigation after standoff with an armed suspect ended on Thursday when officers found the man dead inside the home with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville Police are currently working a death investigation after standoff with an armed suspect ended on Thursday when officers found the man dead inside the home with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The Titusville Police Department issued an Active Incident Advisory on early Thursday after several shots were heard coming from a home in the 4700 block of Cocoanut Drive.

Authorities shut down Cocoanut Drive while officers attempted to make contact with the homeowner.

Titusville police officials said that the adult male inside the house was armed.

The suspect’s identity has not yet been released by police.
