Sheriff Ivey stresses that we must celebrate our great nation not only today but every day during the year by doing something as simple as flying “Old Glory” high above our homes and businesses.

So as you get set to head out and celebrate the Fourth of July, Sheriff Ivey asks that you make sure you wear your red, white and blue. Be sure to have a flag and to please include the Star Spangled Banner, God Bless America and God Bless the USA on your music soundtracks today.

He asks that you play these songs all day long, and if someone asks why you keep playing the same song over and over again, tell them, “Because you can.”

Sheriff Ivey also wants everyone to celebrate safely and responsibly today and tonight.

Finally, on behalf of the 1,500 men and women that serve the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Ivey wishes you a happy Fourth of July.
