Former Eastern Florida State College Golfer Mickey DeMorat Places Second at Florida Open

PALM COAST, FLORIDA – Former Eastern Florida State College men’s golfer Mickey DeMorat finished second in the 73rd Florida Open Championship at Hammock Dunes Club in Palm Coast on Sunday.

The Merritt Island native, who helped the Titans to a second-place finish in the NJCAA National Championship Tournament in 2015, shot a 72 in the final round to finish with a 65-68-72 – 205, one stroke behind Sean Dale.

It is the second straight year that DeMorat finished in the top three at the Florida Open. Last year DeMorat played in the 118th U.S. Open and made the cut, placing tied for 56th overall.

Keith Greene, who was a two-time All-American with the Titans in 2012 and 2013, tied for 11th in the Florida Open, shooting a 68 in the final round to finish the three-day tournament with a 210.

Ryan Rozic, who played for the Titans in the 2016-17 seasons, tied for 35th overall. The Melbourne native shot a 73 in the final round to finish with a 215 overall.

Billy Anderson, who won a national championship in 2011 with the Titans, had a rough final round to finish tied for 53rd overall. The Deltona native finished with a 220 after shooting a 77 on Sunday.
