BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey was spotted riding with the BCSO Motor Unit on Tuesday as the sheriff’s office works to keep everyone safe in our community through traffic enforcement.

With the July Fourth holiday beginning, please share with Sheriff Ivey locations that you feel need speed enforcement or traffic control device enforcement such as stop signs or red lights.

Beginning July 1, law enforcement officers can now pull over Florida drivers and ticket them for texting while driving.

It is now a primary offense to text from a moving vehicle; this includes emailing and other forms of typing on a mobile device.
