BREVARD SCHOOLS FOUNDATION: Helping Students in Our Community is Now More Important Than Ever

Urgent Need- Help Students in Brevard Impacted by the Coronavirus Crisis

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – In these uncertain times, it is the children who are the most vulnerable. Many students depend on our schools for more than just learning.

Schools offer a sense of stability and meet the basic needs of a lot of kids in our community.

With the upcoming move to online learning, many students will experience very real hardships.

Brevard Schools Foundation is the primary non-profit organization that serves all 75,000 students across our 84 public schools.

We are preparing to meet the needs of our students during this challenging time just as we have done for the past 33 years. But we know we can’t do it alone! We need your help.

Many concerned citizens have already called us asking how they can help. Right now, there is a need for school supplies and hygiene items for 1,520 homeless and more than 35,000 low-income students.

Our team is working diligently to get these supplies to students who need them and is currently packing 5,000 kits using our existing inventory of supplies.

Even using our network of low-cost suppliers, we estimate needing $180,000 to replenish inventory and build more kits to help our neediest students. Obtaining grocery gift cards for homeless students is another need that we are working on.

In the meantime, we continue to work with our school district professionals to identify other needs as they emerge.

We know there will be a tremendous need for services – we just don’t know what those additional services might be at this point. We are truly in uncharted territory.

We must be ready to answer the call and provide the programs and services that our local students will need.

Please join us in this mission by considering a donation to Brevard Schools Foundation so that we can be ready to help our students now and in the coming weeks. Together, we will make a difference.
